Christmas Concert 2014

The Village Singers of Lake Zurich 2014 Christmas Concert was another huge success!
(click to enlarge photos)

===================

Behind the scenes:  Our accompanist, Tara, director Martin, and in the background, audio engineer, Jean, all contributed big time to our successful performances!

===================

As is our custom, audience members were invited to join us for our final number from Handel's "Messiah" -- the Hallelujah Chorus.  It's wonderful when there are so many joining us that it gets crowded up there!

Meet Our New Director!

Martin Pazdioch has over 20 years experience as a choir director, conductor, soloist, section leader, pianist, organist, and liturgical musician.  He was a member of the voice faculty at Dominican University, sang with the Chicago Symphony Chorus for 19 seasons, has performed on five Grammy Award-winning recordings, and has vast experience in opera, concert, recital, musical theatre, and in the recording studio.  As well as teaching voice at area high schools, colleges, and in studio settings, he maintains a standard of musical excellence while working with people of all musical abilities and uses his knowledge and skills to help volunteer choristers improve their vocal skills while having fun.  Obviously, he is well suited to work with our group and is excited about working with a non-auditioned group of men and women who love to sing, and we are delighted and excited to have him as our new director!

Rehearsals for Our Christmas Season Starting!

Our first get together will be this upcoming Monday, August 26, 2013. at 7 p.m.  We will register, get our music, renew our friendships and maybe look at a song or two.

Wendy Beyer, our new director, has chosen a number of  pieces to sing that we have sung before.

Please invite any of your friends that like to sing and any past members of the group that you think might like to return to sing with us.

Tell them that we have a great new director and our concert for the holidays WILL be exciting.

We are rehearsing and performing at The Chapel of Lake Zurich.  The address is 330 S. Old Rand Road, which is just south of the Ela Public Library.

For those of you who have been with the group for more than 5 years, it is where we used to rehearse and perform before we moved to Alpine Chapel.

Post-Concert Party

Barb, our incomparable hostess for these semi-annual post-concert parties, once again made all feel welcome in their beautiful home, and fed us again, too!

The spring weather allows us to visit the catfish pond in the backyard...

Watching the video of the concert is always a party highlight because we never get to hear ourselves sing when rehearsing or on stage!
